Star Wars Bedding For Jedi Knights

Are you a Jedi knight or just someone who loves Star Wars? What started out as a hopefully movie project has churned out cults and mass followings. Aside from the gadgets and gizmos, you can dress up your bed with Star Wars bedding and comforters. While many of these bed sets are designed for children, I wouldn’t doubt that there are thousands of grown men and women sporting a Skywalker pillow and Wookie blanket.

For a classic feel, the Star Wars Saga sheet set aims to please in colors of blue. For $24 on Amazon it can be yours. The set includes a fitted sheet, regular sheet, and pillow case with 120 count threading and 60% cotton. While this will please most fans, the quality isn’t the best. In fact, for younger children it may be a problem. There have been reports of the fabric irritating skin and feeling scratchy. However, the biggest thing is that the pillow case has Darth Vader’s head on it, which is a rare thing to find. The clone wars sheet set is just about the same so there is no need for further comment other than that the design is different.

The Star Wars twin comforter will please the eyes but not the skin. It has a 132 thread count, 60% cotton/40% Polyester and the comforter is filled with polyester. For most young boys this will suit them just fine despite the stiffness. Even after washing several times it doesn’t seem to break the fabric in at all. Most recommend a regular wash but I have found that a cold gentle wash and tumble dry will help keep everything together. The last thing you want to do with lower quality bedding is run it through regular wash cycles.

Star Wars Pillow Case
There is a common theme with some of the Star Wars bedding that the quality isn’t up to par. I think it must be that the companies making them are just in it for the fast cash off a great brand. The basic pillow depicts Anakin Skywalker and Obi-wan Kenobi in a light saber battle. The most common complaint is the stiffness of the material. Its 132 thread count isn’t exactly luxury. For $9 per pillow case, you might have to consider if it’s really worth it or not. The decorative pillows have better graphics but the quality stands the same. It definitely is best to use as a decoration rather than something comfortable to lean on.

The Star Wars bedding 5 pc set is a nice piece of eye candy. The set comes with a comforter, 2 pillow cases, and sheets. For about $90 it will transform any room in to a genuine Star Wars fan room. The thickness of everything together will work out during colder months. However, for children under 10 I would recommend and extra layer of flannel sheeting underneath. That is especially if you live where temperatures go below 0 at night.

Most children won’t complain about their Star Wars bed sheets because they look awesome. It would have been nice to have a higher thread count but that would definitely increase the price and out of most people’s budgets. They definitely make great gifts to keep these fans fast asleep in a galaxy far, far away.
